Trigonometry is the study of triangles and is used to solve for some unknown element of a triangle such as a side or angle.

In trigonometry, students use trigonometric functions as a way of specifying which sides of a triangle-hypotenuse, opposite and adjacent-are related to which angle and vice versa. This relationship allows us to solve for missing angles and sides.
