To put it simply, earth science is the study of planet earth. Although there are many divisions of earth science, students are typically introduced to Geology, Astronomy, and Meteorology.

Geology concerns itself with the structure and history of earth. Students will learn about minerals & rocks, weathering & erosion, plate tectonics, and Earth’s history.

Meteorology is the study of weather and the atmosphere. Topics like weather variables, forecasting, the atmosphere, and weather systems (fronts, air masses) can be expected.

Astronomy studies celestial objects and their properties that originate outside Earth’s atmosphere. Students are introduced to topics like terrestrial coordinates, seasons, the solar system, and earth’s motions (rotation/revolution).
